Articles are powerful content format that you can leverage and repurpose into many other content formats. One of them is CD. Now, a lot of people thinks that the trend is already shifting to digital formats but the fact is not so. I mean, some people still like to listen to their favorite music or educational content from their audio CD player in their car. How can you leverage and create your own CDs from the articles?
I think it’s absolutely worth it if you realize the essence of marketing. It is about reaching people whenever they want in the way they want to. If they prefer reading, give them articles. If they like listening, offer an audio CD or a podcast.
As a marketer, giving the content consumers what they want is the key to increase consumption. Assume that CD is the right strategy for your business. Perhaps you are giving away it for free in exchange for the prospect’s physical address so you can follow up with postcards and other things.
With your computer or laptop and a CD or DVD rewritable drive, you can do so easily at your home.
1. Turn articles into MP3
This can be done either by recording your voice immediately via a microphone. You can also do a teleseminar and record it. If the teleseminar service has the MP3 recording option, you may want to use that too.
2. Edit the MP3
An audio CD can be up to 70 minutes long, so make sure the content fits well into that time frame. You may also want to add intro and outro music to make the audio sounds better.
3. Insert the CD and burn the MP3
If you have iTunes or Windows Media Player, you can write your MP3 file into the CD. Please make sure you choose the option of turning it into audio CD and not data CD.
4. Design a label
It doesn’t have to be fancy. The thing about do-it-yourself label is that it may look personal to your prospects. It may seem like you record it, design the label, slap it on the CD and send to them personally. Of course, your case may be different so use your own judgment.
Once you get it done, now start marketing and get the words out.
