Calculating your body fat is not a very difficult job to do. There are many easy methods available which helps in the easy calculation almost correctly. You should be measuring anything; it should be body fat percentage, not weight. Your weight does not accurately reflect the level of your fitness.

Body fat is measured with what is known as Body Mass Index, or BMI. An ideal percentage for a medium-height woman ranges from 21% to 31%. The percentage can be as low as 8-10% in women with excellent figures. Models especially have very low fat percentages.

Calorie shifting is an easy diet to follow. Once you read the rules below, you will understand why:

1. You can eat as much food as you desire, at each meal. Eat until you are completely satisfied. But you must stop just short of being too full.

2. You must eat four full meals every day, of a diet consisting of a variety of foods from all four food groups.

3. Each meal must be spaced out by at least 2.5 to 3 hours in between each. No snacking is allowed in between each meal.

There are two types of stress. The first type is acute stress. That’s the kind where your body senses danger and adapts to the threat by making physical changes which enable you to quickly get out of harms way. This occurs because your body secretes chemicals and stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. These chemicals are secreted in response to your thoughts and cause your body to prepare for “fight or flight.” For example, let’s say you are crossing the street and you notice a car quickly approaching. You see the car which causes you to feel fear and anxiety. Your body then adapts to the stress by secreting chemicals and hormones which send messages to your heart, lungs and organs in order to prepare them to handle your crisis. Your heart rate increases, blood flow is diverted to muscles allowing for quick movement, your pupils dilate and more oxygen flows through your lungs for an extra burst of energy. These changes allow you to react quickly, enabling you to jump onto the curb to safety. Within a short period of time your body calms down and things return to normal. This protective mechanism is crucial to your safety and is designed to protect you against danger.

The best exercise for fast weight loss is exercise of the cardio or aerobic variety.

Anaerobic exercise, such as strength training, lifting weights, or short bursts of intense energy do not really burn fat. They are good for other purposes but not for losing weight.
