I recall reading that the increased price would come down once new disc making factories were built. Never happened. The majors (Warners, Universal, Sony, Polygram) got fat. Consumers replaced their music collections with the new technlology, all in the name of convenience and better sound.

Charles Manson sits in a jail cell today and will for the rest of his life for being responsible as a murderer. Growing up in Ohio, Charles was traded from place to place, and as much as he ran back home to his alcoholic mother, she always rejected him. A familiar face to early days of prison, he was often charged for car theft, larceny and the prostitution of underaged girls. During most of his jail time, Charles was taught guitar by a fellow inmate. When released, he moved to San Francisco where he fell in love with a librarian, lived in her home and invited eighteen other women to stay there too. Together they all traveled the west coast in an original hippie bus and became known as the Manson family.

When it comes to Christmas and the holidays, nothing quite gets you in the mood to celebrate the way that music does. All it takes is that certain song to trigger a memory and you’re back in the kitchen with Grandma making sugar cookies or helping your Dad tug the pine tree through the door that seems to get smaller every year.
