A story book for Christmas was created in 1939 during the time of the great depression. The story was created for the Chicargo based Montgomery Wards Department Stores featuring a new character called Rudolph. One of the highlights for the Christmas season was for parents to take their children for a visit to large department stores such as Montgomery Wards to visit Santa, sit on his knee and receive a gift. For many years the Montgomery Wards Santa gave away from his Christmas sack a specially printed Christmas color-in book. The store wanted to save money and do something different so it gave one of its stores copywriters, 34 year old Rudolph L May the job of coming up with a story. May was said to be taunted as a child because he was shy and small in statue. It is believed that the idea of being ostracized came from his own personal experiences. May created Rudolph with similar problems who in the end rises above his problems and is transformed.

Omega 3 fatty acids are important for brain function and research has showed that they may play an important role in vision, co-ordination, learning ability, memory, concentration and behaviour. When our mothers told us that fish was ‘brain food’, she wasn’t kidding! Omega 3 fatty acids cannot be produced by the body so we must obtain them through diet.

My fondest memories growing up revolved around the summer fishing trips I took as a youth with my uncle and cousins. Those fishing excursions became the highlight of our summer. We would all get up really early, before the sun even came up, and we would pile in the truck and head to the lake for the weekend.

The drive seemed like it took forever to my eight-year old heart, even though we were only about an hour away from our home in Dallas, Texas. I am sure we just about drove my uncle crazy constantly asking, “Are we there yet”?

Kids still love superman parties after all these years. There is often nothing more fun than pretending to be a superhero flying over the skyscrapers of a tall city, at least when you are a kid. Since most superman parties are for kids you’ll have an easy time finding great decorations and party goods to satisfy their needs for a fun party. Food for this superhero party is also easy to put together.
